Certain characters have dominated the Creepypasta landscape, many of which have sadly lost their luster or were that way from the beginning. Characters such as Jeff the Killer as well as the whole '... the Killer' characters, Eyeless Jack, Laughing Jack, Ben Drowned, and sadly, even the Slenderman. Droves of stupid teenage girls have turned them into 'kawaii' Mary Sues, and droves of stupid guys have turned them into mindless gore machines. I want to see them as neither; I want to see them as real characters with real motivations, but still with their credibility as horror figures intact. The Day Before Halloween 1983 The cold light of the moon filled Mark's bedroom. He lie in his warm bed; snug beneath his covers. The shadows of the swaying orange & yellow branches stretched across the floor. One seemed to inch ever further to the wall overlooking the boy's bed. It grew & grew until it reached to the ceiling.
